Our Nursery allocated time in the library is on a Thursday. Please share the book with your child and write a comment in their reading diary. Your comment could highlight how engaged your child was in the story, if they can talk about what was happening on each page, or if they can tell you about the story.
Your child is issued with a blue homework folder, this will be sent home on a Friday and completed homework should be returned on a Monday. Please keep the homework letter in the blue folder and write a comment in the box on the back to let us know how your child found the homework.
Each week on the homework letter will have a brief overview of what will be covered the following week, as well as a synopsis of what was covered. This will help you support your child in their learning, as we value the home/school partnership.
If you want to let us know about anything you think is special or important at home, please complete a ‘Discovered at Home’ sheet, so we can add them to your child’s learning journey.
Our class has PE on a Thursday Morning with the Sports Coach. The children need a full PE kit and will change into shorts, t-shirt and pumps.
Spring Term 2
This half term our topics are ‘What do we eat?’ We are going to be talking about different types of food and where food comes from. We will be using our senses to explore foods.
We will be looking at the story ‘Handa’s surprise’ and talking about what happens in the story. We will be retelling the story using talk for writing and actions. We will then use our imagination to innovate a new version of our own.
In our Maths we will be counting accurately and matching numerals to quantities. We will be doing lots of work on size and weight, linking this to food.
