24.5.19 Homework letter
Our Nursery allocated time in the library is on a Thursday. Please share the book with your child and write a comment in their reading diary. Your comment could highlight how engaged your child was in the story, if they can talk about what was happening on each page, or if they can tell you about the story.
Your child is issued with a blue homework folder, this will be sent home on a Friday and completed homework should be returned on a Monday. Please keep the homework letter in the blue folder and write a comment in the box on the back to let us know how your child found the homework.
Each week on the homework letter will have a brief overview of what will be covered the following week, as well as a synopsis of what was covered. This will help you support your child in their learning, as we value the home/school partnership.
If you want to let us know about anything you think is special or important at home, please complete a ‘Discovered at Home’ sheet, so we can add them to your child’s learning journey.
Our class has PE on a Thursday Morning with the Sports Coach. The children need a full PE kit and will change into shorts, t-shirt and pumps.
Summer Term 1
This half term our topic is ‘Growing’ thinking about ‘How do we change?’ We are going to be thinking about how humans, plants and animals change as they grow. We will start our topic with our trip to Cockfield’s Farm where we will see lots of different animals.
We will be looking at the stories ‘Jasper’s Beanstalk,’ ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ and ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’ and talking about what happens in the stories. We will be retelling the stories using pictures and actions.
In our Maths we will be counting accurately and matching numerals to quantities. We will be doing lots of work on size and time linking this to our growing topic.
